Nijar and its surroundings

The region of Almeria offers many possibilities for leisure and relaxation and can be enjoyed at any time of the year with both historical and cultural excursions, as well as nature. It has sea, mountains, desert, charming towns and villages with Andalusian architecture. The landscape and its particular light have attracted and continue to attract many artists.  From the accommodation you can see a varied landscape, with views of the village, the orchards, the mountains of Sierra Alhamilla and the park and sea of Cabo de Gata.

Cabo de gata Natural Park

This maritime-terrestrial nature reserve, unique in Europe, with its desert steppes, volcanic mountains and unspoilt beaches (about 25 km from the accommodation) offers an enormous wealth of scenery from which you can make all kinds of excursions and sports: cycling, swimming in open water, trekking, horse riding along the coast, visit the gold mines of Rodalquilar, discover beautiful coves by boat, diving...

The village of Nijar

The ancient village of potters and weavers was founded by the Arabs at the beginning of the 8th century, and with its old town has been listed as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. In its shops you can find typical Níjar pottery, rugs, wicker and esparto baskets and many other local products.

Cultural getaways

If you miss the hustle and bustle of the city, you can take a trip of one or more days to Almería, Granada or Málaga. Muslim and Christian, European and African, these cities offer a wide range of history, culture and gastronomy. With the possibility of visiting museums, attending music festivals, discovering their many restaurants, tapas and enjoying the nightlife.

Nature exkursions

In addition to all the possibilities offered by the Cabo de Gata Park, just a few kilometres from Níjar is the impressive Tabernas desert, which is once again the scene of film shoots. You can also visit several caves, including the second largest geode in the world, discover the sierras of Filabres and the Alpujarra (Sierra Nevada) or enjoy the thermal waters of a Roman-Arabic spa.
